Moisturizing Your Skin at Home
It is no secret that moisturizing your skin is an important part of a beauty routine. Often moisturizers are expensive and there is not a one for all type of product out there. What works for your best friend or even your sister might not work for you. Luckily there are many ways to make moisturizer at home for little money. This will give you the chance to see what works for your skin. If you have spent a lot of time out in the elements your skin might need an extra dose of moisture. Here are some great ways to do it at home.
Eat Well
Before starting any home treatments remember that the best thing you can do for your skin is to eat well and drink a lot of water. It is true that healthy skin starts on the inside out. Eating a healthy diet will help to keep your skin clear from blemishes and healthy looking. Drinking a lot of water helps to push toxins out of your system. The more water you drink the more your body will stay free from toxins.
Remove Dead Skin Cells
Using oatmeal and yogurt on your facial skin is great for moisturizing. Take a couple of teaspoons of dry oatmeal with a cup or so of plain yogurt and mix it into a paste. This can be used as a gentle body scrub for not only your face, but your whole body. This will remove dead skin cells, leaving your skin soft and moisturized.
Rejuvenate the Skin
Taking a milk bath is a great way to rejuvenate the skin. Fill your bathtub with warm water, but not too hot. Once it is almost full add at least five cups of whole milk, or buttermilk. Sit in this bath for at least 30 minutes for soft and smooth skin.
There is a facial mask that can be made at home as well. Take one avocado, one egg, a teaspoon of coconut oil and mix it into a paste. Put this paste on your face or any area of your body that needs some extra moisturization. Let it sit on your skin for at least 20 minutes before rinsing it off.
Make a paste of milk and honey. This might take some time and might require starting with warm milk to get the honey to mix easily. Once you have a soft paste apply this to your face for at least 20 minutes. Allow the mixture to dry and then wash it off with warm water. It will leave your face soft and smooth.
Make a paste of crushed almonds and oil olive. This might take some time and elbow grease to smash the almonds. Apply this paste to your face and let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes. Again once it dries wash it off with warm water.
No matter which facial mask you decide to you take some time to relax and rejuvenate when you have the mask on your face. Play some soft music and light some candles. Let the time really be your own. Another great way to keep your skin healthy and smooth is to get enough rest.
