Getting Rid of Hair Loss For Women
As a woman in this day and age of pressure to look good, beautiful and young, if you are losing hair then it could be a pretty difficult thing to deal with. The difficult part about that dilemma is that if you worry about your hair loss, the stress in effect could make more hair fall off!
In a lot of cases though if you’re a lady experiencing hair loss then it’s not permanent, so you can treat it easily!
Androgenetic alopecia is otherwise known as baldness or hair loss that half of men go through and a few women after forty are affected by that as well. In women hair loss could start usually after menopause but that’s not set in stone. The main cause of hair loss is when estrogen levels take a dip and it’s the hormone change that causes the hair to thin.
It a good thing again that aside from androgenetic alopecia, hair loss that is most common in women is again the change in metabolism and hormones, so the hair loss is again something that is not permanent. And another good thing is that unlike men, women rarely go bald all the way through! What ladies experience is the general an gradual thinning of hair.
When women are pregnant usually the hair loss stops after about six months after the baby is born. This happens because when a woman is pregnant she’s got a lot of estrogen and this causes the hair follicles to go into growth phase and once the baby is born the hormones go back to normal. Now the cycle is inverted. In this case there is not really much that can be done but perhaps a hair tonic might encourage growth.
A bad diet could also lead to hair loss, this is very apparent in people with eating disorders because excessive weight loss in short amounts of time makes hair fall.
Stress both on the mind and body can also cause hair loss but only if the stress happens for a prolonged period of time and is very extreme. Once the stress is gone, the hair comes back, so a good way to keep your head quite literally is to stay stress free.
Other things that encourage hair lose could be putting chemicals on the hair frequently, chemicals that are used in perming, dyeing, straightening, rebonding and such. If your hair is healthy then it should be able to withstand these treatments but if it is not healthy and is put under too much pressure then it becomes brittle and breaks, this is where products are going to help your hair a lot.
Once you know and understand the cause of your hair loss then you can find the right treatment for you. In a lot of cases as you’ve just read it is temporary so you don’t have to worry excessively about your hair loss problem. If you are too worried, you may always seek the help of a licensed practitioner.
