Every year, several parents select Toronto private schools for their child’s education. There are approximately two thousand private schools in Canada and an estimated eight percent of kids attend these private schools. Many of the best private schools are located in Toronto. Private schools charge a tuition and typically require an entrance examination in order to attend. These are independently run schools and do not have to adhere to government regulated curriculum.

The offer extensive art, computer, languages, science, mathematics programs among several other extra curricular activities.

The teachers in these schools usually have higher credentials than the teachers in public schools. They also have more experience on average than their public schools counterparts. The hiring standards are typically higher for private school teachers. But there are well qualified teachers in both private and public school.

Tuition fees vary depending on the particular school. Most schools offer financial aide for families that cannot afford the tuition. And in some cases, full scholarships are offered to high achieving students that are in financial need. Some private schools are boarding schools and the students live on the premises. Toronto private schools as well as Markham private schools and Newmarket private schools all offer a full range of academic and extracurricular programs that are not available in public schools. It is important to research several private schools in order to find the programs that best suit your child’s academic and social needs.
