Going For a Camping Trip at Crater Lake National Park
The Crater Lake National Park is an amazing natural sight because of its feature of a blue lake which is considered as the deepest around the United States. It runs as deep as 1958 feet. This lake is surrounded by cliffs and it is indeed a wonderful place to enjoy the beauty of nature. It would be an ideal place to stay for how many nights while during the day you can do different types of recreational activities.
If you wish to go camping, you can choose between three options. You can try out between two of its campsites which are the Lost Creek Campground or within Mount Mazama. The third option would be to explore more of its remote areas by doing backcountry camping. Learning more about each options will help you decide on where would be best especially if you wish to visit the place at a certain time of the year.
When you are going with a large group like your whole family and you want to stay at a larger campground with many services, you can choose to stay at Mazama. It has almost 200 camping accommodations that offer services such as showers, bathrooms, picnic tables, RV parks and a lot more. It can even have trails for those who are on a wheelchair. When going camping in such places, it is best to bring your cheetah stun gun. You also need to pay a fee for camping at designated areas.
The Lost Creek Campground is another option that you can try that is just a small and simple area suitable for campers who want to stay at a place where there are just a few campers. It has 10 tent sites and services such as shower and picnic tables. Since it accommodates only a few campers, you must make sure to do reservations ahead of time because they will offer their services on a first come first serve basis.
The third and last option that you can do in order to explore this natural wonder is to try backcountry camping. You will be following certain directions in order to go to the place which you really want. But before that, you must make sure to get a permit from the visitor’s center without a fee so that you will be able to inform them of your plans of going to the distant areas of the Park.
No matter what type of camping you want to do, you must bring everything that you need. Although there may be some grocery stores at one of the camp sites, it would be best that you brought everything to avoid additional expenses. Bring your food and water supplies, your first aid kit, rechargeable stun gun for safety, tents and equipment for sleeping and most especially your clothes and gear.
These are the three possible places that you can stay and go to when you plan to visit the Crater Lake National Park in Southern Oregon. Learning what you really need and what services you want will help you make a choice for a good place to stay.
