A Perfect Personal Gift

How often do we search for the perfect personal gift to give to the people we love? Perhaps we want to give them a birthday gift, say thank you, welcome home, or simply show them that we care. But finding the ideal present is not always so easy. This could be for various reasons:

– We don’t have the funds for buying anything too fancy, original, or nice.

– Even if we are able to afford something a little costly, not everyone is good at working out present ideas. Creativity is a large part of giving gifts, and sadly not everyone has it.

– Perhaps the recipient is not always easy to please. While some people are happy to receive anything they are given, others are more discerning. Perhaps the person that you would like to honor with a gift has a specific interest, and then again maybe they do not.

Below are some easy, low-cost ideas for personal gifts:

– A personal pen with the recipient’s name engraved on it. These days, there are some very classy pens on the market, and this can look very elegant. And even though we live in the computer age, with text messages, Iphones, and Palm Pilots, we do still need pens, even if it is just to sign a check. Therefore, this kind of present will never go to waste.

– For a child or a member of the family, how about a tray of personal cupcakes? Given the variety of cupcake decorating ideas on the market, this is not as frivolous as it sounds. For example, these make great edible Christmas decorations – you could ice the person’s name on the cakes, amid “holly” made from green fondant icing and red glace cherries. Equally, if this is for a birthday party or similar occasion, you could ice the letters of the words “Happy Birthday” one on each cake. These are cheap and easy to make, but if you are creative, you make these into something very personal and individual.

– A charm bracelet. This does not have to be very expensive, as you don’t need to use gold. Alternatively, you could make up the bracelet very slowly, especially if it is for your daughter or your sister. You could buy a charm every few months. No two bracelets are the same, making them a very unique and special gift.

– A mug or cup with the person’s photograph and name on it. This is not an expensive present at all, but it is very personal.

– A video presentation about the person. This does not have to be expensive at all. Collect together a series of photographs of the recipient, taken at different times and places, and create a “story” of their life. Powerpoint is an extremely useful program for this. If you are good with the camera, you can create a very personal masterpiece. Alternatively, you can go for the more traditional photo album. No one can top this for being personal, as this is very much about the individual.

With a little creativity and effort, you will be sure to find the right personalized gift.
