Exactly what is infinity downline? It can be described as a business opportunity that promises to make you a lot of money. You are asked to sign up to a program and pay a joining fee (which is usually within most people\’s capability) and that allows you to buy information products over the internet. However where the real money is, according to the promoters, is by enticing other people to join the program.

They work on a 4×4 system whereby you sign up four people and each of them sign up four people and each of them sign up four people and it keeps on going forever. Now the whole idea is that everyone gets paid commission on their referral\’s sales, and on each of their referral\’s sales. Therefore the more people you have under you means the more you get paid.

The concentration is on filling up your, and your referral\’s downlines, so that there are many people in a \’swarm\’. There is no mention of promoting the products for sale whatsoever. There is no mention of people having to buy the products. All they want you to do is promote the business model and get others to sign up.

Many websites have been created to purely promote the system and any one reading these sites are persuaded to sign up and join the owner\’s swarm. The sites promise riches beyond belief and phrases such as \’retire on this income\’ and \’never work again\’ are quite common.

The question must then be asked. Where is the money coming from to pay you? If the whole purpose of the promotion is to sign people up in your swarm that only would provide the nominal signup fee; which would barely cover administration costs.

For profit to be made there has to be some sort of product to be sold at a price that is greater than the production cost. The \’how to\’ articles for sale are hardly likely to generate much enthusiasm amongst the people who are joining the scheme, so purchases are likely to be very limited.

The problem with this system is that a lot is being promised without any thought going into how the money, to allow so many to retire, is going to be raised. Even if everyone who signed up and bought an article, the amount of money raised would be insufficient to keep you for a year let alone a lifetime.

The system being promulgated is very similar to the multi level marketing gimmick that was in vogue up until recently, and that was not really successful because very little product was being sold there either. Multi level marketing did have the potential to make a lot of people a lot of money because real product for real profit was behind the concept. In actual fact a few people became quite wealthy through this scheme and that was only because they actually promoted and sold the product. The infinity downline program will lead to failure because there is no profit; being generated or able to be generated.
