Diets For Fast Weight Loss

Fast Weight Loss Diets

Every day hundreds of people are out there who want to find diets for fast weight loss. Some of them are desperate and think that if they starve themselves that will work, but in reality, that will just slow down the weight loss. That’s because if you don’t eat enough, your body goes into a starvation mode and just retains calories because it doesn’t think it will get any more fuel.

Diets for fast weight loss should be undertaken for only a few weeks until you get off the initial pounds that diet is geared to help you lose. It’s best to lose this weight as gradually as possible, yet at the same time maximize your efforts, so the weight stays off, as weight lost more slowly tends to stay off longer.

It’s also a good idea to speak with your doctor before you try any diets for fast weight loss. Plus, if you add some exercise to your program, it will help build your metabolism and you will lose weight even faster than if you just diet.

In any diet, you should never skip breakfast, as eating breakfast actually can jumpstart your metabolism for the rest of the day. Breakfast should also be your biggest meal, since you will be using it for fuel the rest of the morning until mid afternoon when you eat lunch.

Which Fast Weight Loss Diets Cause Harm?

We have already mentioned that it’s not good to skip meals because that puts the body into starvation mode and causes retention of fat. There are also other diets for fast weight loss that are not recommended by doctors. One of these is the liquid protein meal diet with protein shakes and no other foods.

Using only these high protein liquid diets should only be done for a short period of time or they have been shown to cause severe health risks. The FDA has warnings on some of these liquid diets for that very reason.
Another bad idea is the extensive use of weight loss supplements or diet pills.

All of us have seen the commercials touting these pills and how they are supposed to be some sort of miracle to help us lose fat and weight. Some of these do help with keeping your appetite down, but most are just glorified vitamins and added caffeine or caffeine type drugs. They can make some people jittery or irritable and cause anxiety or even heart palpitations.

It’s also not a good idea to use any so called diets for fast weight loss that have you eating just one kind of food, like eating bananas or grapefruit all day. These cause you to not get the nutrients your body needs.

So, we have learned that some diets for fast weight loss aren’t the most healthy to use for long period of time. But if these are unhealthy, what is a person who wants or needs to lose weight supposed to do?

Healthy Weight Loss

Any sort of attempt at losing weight quickly should only be undertaken if you need to lose less than about 25 pounds. Otherwise, a safer way is to set a goal at about one or two pounds of weight loss a month. Most doctors recommend that a person doesn’t go below 1,200 calories in any diet unless they are under a doctor’s care and the doctor has them on a medically arranged diet below that limit.

All in all, it is possible to lose weight quickly, but you have to do it safely and choose the appropriate diets for fast weight loss that will help you to lose weight, but remain safe while doing so.
