Is God to Blame for the Japan Earthquake?

The recent events caused by the Japanese earthquake and subsequent Tsunami was simply heartbreaking. The extent of the forces of nature can be cruel and puzzling. With debate on all sides raging from scientific, political, religious, economic and secular opinions, it’s hard to comprehend what happened and put it into context.

While the death toll will probably continue to rise for months to come and many bodies never will be recovered, the repercussions of this natural phenomenon will be felt for years to come. The scientific argument draws in all factions of opinions, namely the fact that Japan resides very close to known fault lines. Then this leads into the political, economic and scientific viewpoints, both pro and against, concerning why a nuclear power plant was built in a fault line area.

Japan is better prepared than most nations to cope with earthquakes due to their evacuation and building controls which have strengthened building structures and prepared it’s citizens for swift evacuations due to it’s frequency of earthquakes. But nothing could prepare it or any other nation for the sheer size and velocity of the earthquake of 11th of March 2011. 8.9 on the Richter scale, which was 8000 times stronger than the one that pummelled the New Zealand town of Christchurch just weeks before.

So why is this part of the world being hit by so much earthquake activity? Well that’s probably one for the seismologists and scientists to argue over, or is it? This natural event has also dragged theologians, christians, secularists, humanists and atheist’s into conflict. Some theologian and christian perspectives based this as an act of God. Secularists, humanists, Atheists, and people who belong to no persuasion believe the events to be naturalistic, or man made.

The Christian viewpoint is even scoffed at with many stating how could an all loving God cause some much cruelty or suffering to his loved ones. This argument even gets extended further. Where all the people who got wiped out in the earthquake sinners? Would the believers only be saved? Are the rest of us in the world not going through so much turmoil because we are not sinners? All these arguments are flawed.

With the scientist arguing in one corner also without any concrete proof that these events were man made or environmentally constructed, they are also missing the bigger picture. Sure there is a natural order in which things take place. We are all subject to the laws of gravity, climates, and geological forces. Our bodies are also subject to the laws of physics and biology. There actually seems to be an inherent design structure in everything, especially the things man didn’t create for himself, which is exactly his own self.

Yes we have reproductive tools, we can reproduce ourselves. We understand a lot more about our bodies and medicine has been advanced significantly and continues to be so with each passing day. But we did not create this gift for ourselves. It was not a scientific breakthrough. It was something inherent in us, that we did not actually create. It was placed there, and not by ourselves just because we were born with reproductive capabilities.

In man’s ultimate conquest to control, create, construct, develop, save, master and conquer, none of us have quite achieved anything near as good as we already had been given at birth. Was this all just the product of a big bang, or a series of big bangs millions of years ago? If so who created the big bang? Why are all scientific arguments that can be completely argued against reported to as fact?

How does this relate to the Japanese Tsunami which took place on the 11th of March 2011? Well these events should not been seen as disasters procured by a damning God or earthly phenomena. God does not punish the sinners and keep the Godly alive during natural disasters neither. Just look at Haiti. The arguments should not be that this is man made or work by a cruel God. But rather this is the beginning of the events that have been predicted thousands of years ago.

All these events were predicted not by sorcerers or clairvoyants but by men and profits of God, and by his son Jesus Christ. And if you don’t believe in him neither, thousands of people who witnessed his miracles could not be wrong. He also fulfilled everything that was written about himself hundreds of years before he was born as a man.

The earthquake and the series of earthquakes, natural phenomena, the failure of money systems, wars, upheavals and famines, are all signals that the natural cycle of life here on earth is coming to an end. God didn’t cause the earthquake to punish sinners but to speak to the world. As it says it Matthew these are all birthing pangs that the earth will go through signifying the end of days before Jesus Christ would return to rule. Don’t believe it? Read Revelations & Matthew 24:8 and check that against what’s happening in today’s world.

We shouldn’t at all be blaming God for these events which were foreshadowed hundreds of years ago, but acknowledging this is the start of the last days. To find out what to do then, read your bible. Start with the New Testament.
