Most people will also store pills and potions in this room too and if there are kids in the home, there is reason to have lockable cupboards in this room. Of course, as the kids get older and perhaps get their own rooms, this is a good way to show them that some things are private.

Whatever kinds of cupboards are used, and this could be modern sleek designs or more traditional looks, it is important to match it in with the rest of the home. However, do not put something ultra modern in an older home because this could actually detract from the value of the home in the end. Try to keep everything in the same era if possible.
