God’s Determinism vs. Man’s Free Will
Now that we have identified that the fundamentals of the laws governing nature depend directly on the relation between God and Time, we run up against another mystery that has been the source of countless arguments ever since humans have possessed the use of reason. The question is: What really controls our actions? Is it God’s determinism or human freewill? Many books have been written on this theme, but irremediably the arguments defending either side are so balanced that the discussion seems likely to go on forever. In this case, we must agree once again that, in order to understand this controversy, we must analyze it through the Principle of the Manifold Wisdom of God.
Among several theories endeavoring to explain the mechanism behind this relation, the one that we have found most acceptable is a theory that acknowledges the existence of both conditions – God’s determinism and human’s freewill – as two parallel lines. Some scholars have developed this theory from the sayings and writings of Charles H. Spurgeon, a prominent British Particular Baptist preacher from the nineteenth century.
