Acting for the Disney Channel

The Disney Channel is a great company to begin working for if you are looking to get ahead in very competitive and fast paced industry. As being one of the foremost names in children and teenage entertainment, a career with them in highly sought after by numerous people so fair to say that there is an abundant amount of competition. However, the majority of this competition can be surmounted by using a few simple tricks along with some good old fashioned advice about what to do and expect on the day of your audition with the Disney Channel.

First, always arrive at your audition early, this is key because there could we waits in line or more possibly delays that could occur at any time during the process. So it is imperative to get there early enough to avoid all of these, I would say go about 45 minutes early, if not an hour early. That may seem a bit extreme however it is a very small price to pay if you arrive at the right time or even miss your audition, which could be extremely problematic.

Second, remember to research your role thoroughly so when you get to your audition you can get right into character and get right to it. Being that it is an audition you will extremely limited on the amount of time that you have to perform so being able to minimize all of the preparations that\’s you may need before you get into your audition. Remember also to be kind an courteous to everyone at you audition a little courtesy goes an abundantly long way and you\’re here to make a good impression and every little bit will count or at least help.

Next, relax yourself. I know that may seem like a tall order but control your breathing and do some breathing exercises to calm yourself down. You want to be at the absolute top of your game when you go into the room and audition and being completely nervous will do absolutely nothing to help you cause.

Lastly enter the room where you audition, greet the director and hand him your paperwork. After you stop talking to the director you should already be in character or at least very close to it. If you are reading from a script you should have it in hand already and be ready to immediately read off of it. Be quick with your part and do what you need to do, do it to the best of your ability and out your entire heart into to, the director will want to see that you put all of your heart into it and completed the roll well. When you have finished politely thank the director and walk off the stage. Don\’t try to engage the director in small talk or plead about your acting ability you audition will do that just as well, actions speak far louder than words.
