These are some of the burgeoning problems in these countries where the problem is compounded by the fact that most of the newborns aren\’t administered proper vaccination and medical care. The nonprofit organizations also help out in child delivery both for the infant and the mother. These projects have yielded results and brought a new ray of hope to the lives of many.

Education – Illiteracy and ignorance are the biggest roadblock in backward countries. The statistics are dismal when it comes to rural areas of these countries and especially the figures related to the education of the girl child. The non-profit organizations run schools for the children and in the slums to help them climb up on the social ladder. Apart from running schools books and other education related items are made available to these children. To bring down the rate of dropout charity organizations are also offering scholarships to meritorious students belonging to poor families.

Safe Environment – A lot of problems in the poor regions of the world arise out of the unsafe environment that they live in. Problems like arsenic contamination in water, pollution of air due to industrialization and unhygienic sanitation loom over most of these places. Non-profit organizations run campaigns to make people aware of these problems and offer them quick suggestions and solutions to these problems. In many places they fund the construction of proper toilets for the poor who can least afford it. They also fund research on environmental problems they loom over the people.
