Before you use an online quote website to find the cheapest Pennsylvania auto insurance you should educate yourself on the terms and common phrases used by Pennsylvania auto insurance companies. Knowing what these terms and common phrases are will help you get the best policy for you and your family.

Medical Payments:

This insurance coverage type is a type that covers doctor’s bills, hospital visits, and could also cover expenses for a funeral as well if the cause of death is a legitimate claim on your auto insurance policy. If your medical condition is car insurance related your health insurance company might not cover those expenses.

Limits:

Limits are the maximum amount the insurance company will pay out during the course of your policy. Usually this is designated by the state so you will find that most Pennsylvania auto insurance companies will have the same limits.

Indemnity:

This term is used to describe the sum of money that is paid for an insured claim or loss.

Personal Injury Protection (PIP)

This insurance will cover the cost of repairs, damages, and/or injuries that have been done to the insured or the insured’s passengers who were in the vehicle during an accident that includes a driver who is uninsured or doesn’t have enough insurance to cover the damages.

“No Fault” Coverage:

This term means that if you are hurt or injured in an automobile accident or if your car is damaged you can make a claim whether or not the damage is your fault or not.

Towing Costs:

This is the amount a Pennsylvania auto insurance company will pay to tow your car that is not drivable.

Roadside Assistance:

This added feature helps give you peace of mind by offering you free assistance when your car breaks down or if you are in an accident. Your insurance company will send out a service tech to get you back on the road and all the charges are covered by the insurance company.

Rental Car Coverage:

This added feature will allow you a certain daily amount to pay for a rental car in the event your car is stolen or damaged. You can use this coverage during the time your car is being repaired or replaced, but if you go over the coverage amount you will have to pay the difference.

Fleet Policy:

A fleet policy is a type of policy that will cover a multiple number of vehicles; it is normally coverage for those who have five or more vehicles.

Knowing these terms and common phrases will help you make a good decision on your Pennsylvania auto insurance policy. Making smart decisions and getting the best coverage at the lowest price will help you save your money for more important things!
