What Men Should Know About Kegel Exercise
The main point of kegel exercise is to strengthen the muscles in the pelvic floor. Up until recently, these exercises were mainly recommended for women exclusively. However, in recent days kegels have started to become very popular for men as well, and there are many reasons why.
There can be additional support gained for the urethra and bladder by doing these exercises regularly. This is because with regular exercise the pelvic muscles can gain strength, which lends additional control to the bladder and bowels. Men who do these exercises will also be able to control their ejaculations better and have stronger erections that last for longer periods of time. This makes kegels an ideal solution for men who have issues with premature ejaculation.
There could be a plethora of reasons why a man may develop weakness in his pelvic muscles in the first place. Being overweight can sometimes be a factor. Additional reasons would be natural aging, bladder strain, lack of physical activity, or prostate surgery.
You cannot begin doing these exercises until you have correctly identified the muscles that need to be targeted. Do not focus on the muscles in your legs, back or abdomen. You can have an easier time finding the right muscles if you just attempt to stop your flow of urine halfway through. Think about the muscles you have used to stop urinating, as these are your PC muscles, and those are what you will need to be focusing on. However, it is very important that you never try to do a kegel exercise in the process of urinating, because then you will be running the risk of an infection in your urinary tract.
Once you have successfully located the proper muscles to exercise, you can immediately begin. Keep in mind that it doesn’t matter where you are when you are doing these exercises, because no one will be able to tell that you are doing them. Always be sure to empty your bladder before you begin. Start by contracting your pelvic muscles for up to 5 seconds. Relax the muscles for 10 seconds in between repetitions. If you are able to, try to do the repetitions in sets of ten. The goal will be to do the sets up to 3 times each day. It will be normal if at first you are unable to hold the contractions for very long. You are going to get better as you get more practice, and soon you will start being able to hold the contractions for longer amounts of time. Once you start to notice that your muscles have gotten pretty strong, try holding your contractions for a period of 10 seconds.
It will be much easier to remember to do your exercises if you do them at the same time every day. Try to make them a part of your daily routine. When kegel exercise is done the proper way, men can get amazing medical benefits as well as sexual benefits, so get started today so that you can begin to see some results!
