My Latest Bargain Find: A Retro Satchel
I love fashion. I love shopping. I love looking trendy. However I do not love (or for that matter can afford) to spend too much money on looking good. My biggest high street shopping triumph is finding a real bargain. The day I find something I love, at a great price, is a happy day for me.
I need to dress smartly for work. We all do, don\’t we? My trick is to buy timeless, classic pieces that will go well together and that can either be dressed up or down. Therefore, accessories play a big part in my wardrobe. I love wearing simple pieces, like the quintessential lbd (little black dress) and giving it some character by matching it with a stunning necklace, or killer shoes. You do not need to have hundreds of items in your wardrobe, you just need to choose the right garments to mix and match so it looks as if you have hundreds of pieces of clothing!
My latest discovery has been a retro satchel. I have longed to acquire a traditional satchel for many years. However, the price of the leather ones has always been a little on the high side. Everyday I need to take files, papers and even my laptop to work. Until now I have been forced to take my handbag plus another bag with all my work stuff. That is why I have been on the look out for a bag that would accomplish both jobs. The retro satchel was the answer to my prayers.
My retro satchel is big enough to fit all the files and papers I want to throw at it, even the laptop fits without a problem, and smart enough to look like a handbag. It has a pocket on the front where I like to put my mobile phone, keys, wallet for easy access. It has a shoulder strap and a handle, so I can choose to wear it over the shoulder or not. I chose my retro satchel in shiny black. This goes back to my rule of buying classic pieces that will go with everything. Black will always match any other colour and it will never be outdated. However, for the more adventurous girl out there, there is a retro satchel to match your mood. You can choose from six mouth watering colours, the black one, fiery red, soothing sky blue, apple green, bright orange and, of course, fuchsia pink, which is every girl\’s dream come true. It is made of hard wearing PVC which is softer than leather and has the added bonus of being waterproof, so I do not have to worry about protecting it from the elements! And as it is a man made material, it is so much more affordable than other satchels .
With my new retro satchel, I can be stylish on a budget! Its classic lines go with whatever I choose to wear, it always looks good and it always looks fresh. It is so comfortable and functional, I do not know how I survived all those years lugging all sorts of handbags and bags! Another bargain shopping triumph! One that I shall enjoy for many years to come!
