Blood borne pathogens are microorganisms in the blood streams of people infected with diseases like Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV and various other communicable diseases. People working in the healthcare sector who handle blood and other body fluids like the semen or vaginal fluids are at a risk of contracting these diseases and many other life threatening diseases.

People who are required to work in such environment are required to undergo the Blood Borne pathogen training to help protect themselves and others of such dangers. In some cases, not just the healthcare workers but many unsuspecting people are also at risk. Find out if you need to undergo the training program yourself. If you handle any of the under mentioned jobs, you are required to undergo extensive training.

While they may not directly come in contact with human bodies and body fluids, they may touch the infected surfaces. People working in the police force and fire fighting department also need to be careful.
