History of Mechanical Link

The history of any massage therapy is amazing and quite impressive especially those that were created due to sheer will to survive and recover from their conditions. Moral support, determination, hope, and dedication to their ideas are some of the most important ingredients that had been instrumental in the development of many of the massage therapies that we know and use today.

Mechanical Link is a type of natural treatment used as an alternative medical care on patients who have osteopathic issues through the manual manipulation of the fascial system in the patient’s body. Medical care professionals who are using this type of treatment at hospitals are highly trained and skilled in using the technique for moving lesions that are not supposed to be stagnant inside our bodies. The method is called recoil as the medical practitioner or massage therapist’s hands conducts manipulation techniques on the connective tissues that recoils after precise speed, direction, and vibration is used.

The use of massage therapies during the early centuries has been a common practice due to the scarcity of medical drugs and the expensive medical surgeries for treating various conditions, especially when the patients are struggling with painful experiences.

The Mechanical Link was developed by Paul Chauffour during the time when he was treating his patients who are experiencing musculoskeletal pain on various parts of their body. Chauffour who was practicing in France was able to create his own bodywork technique which has a quite gentle approach in dealing with clients through a relaxing and comfortable manner. For more than 25 years, he was able to refine and hone his skills in utilizing the effective massage strokes and techniques used for treating osteopathy among his clients. Paul’s discovery was not possible if Osteopathy was not discovered by Andrew Taylor Still more than a hundred years ago. Structural integrity was the main focus of his theory where he was convinced that in order to attain and maintain health, the body should fit properly in its proper place and function in its natural state. He also felt that the body is capable of triggering its healing abilities when maintained at its correct or ideal condition. Through these ideas, he was able to develop Osteopathy which became a system of medical practice that promotes structural integrity in a client who is experiencing certain problems on his or her health due to various factors.

The therapy has a huge number of supporters and users especially in the Europe and in Canada. Although it has not yet received such a warm welcome from the Americans as compared to the other types of massage therapy techniques, more and more people are becoming aware of what the therapy has in store for them in terms of health benefits and great effects to their body. More and more people in the field of medical care are beginning to see the essence of the technique which is why osteopaths, chiropractors, massage therapists, physical therapists, and other health care professionals are into studying the healing art.
