There is an acceptable norm in the society where the men are the ones who ask the women out for a date or they initiate a conversation. However, these standards have changed entirely over the years. Women have become more aggressive in the sense that they make the first move. This is arguably an acceptable standard for the present generation where the women are said to be given the same rights in every opportunity just like the men. The upbringing, the people that they spend a lot of their time with and the location of where they were born and raised also are contributory factors. Some just like to pretend to act more western when they get to urban areas.

There are those whose line of work lands them in the red light district which is nothing new if these women ask guys out. Of course, these are a few women who have gone of astray and just want to earn extra bucks. So the answer to the question on whether or not Asian women ask guys to go out is a resounding yes. However, in Asia all the more in rural areas there are still a lot of Asian women who are traditionally discrete. It is in the urban areas where the nightlife and the tourist activity is at its peak, is where Asian women really do make the first move to ask guys out.

There are still a lot of people in most Asian societies that find it unpleasant if their women start asking guys out. The dignity of these women is degraded in the in the eyes of the people around them. There are still those that want to live in the traditional standards where the women play hard-to-get and let the men exert every effort just to get their attention. The courtship is also a lot more difficult for the men when it comes to wooing Asian women who grew up in a traditional manner. However, Asian women who were born and raised in the west have adapted to the western culture quite well. They wish to be more western in everything that they do which they become an influence to their fellow Asians when they visit their homeland. This makes them think and feel that they become higher in the standards of the society. For these people it does not matter what their direct or adoptive parents will say as long as they live happy and content lives where asking men out becomes something of a norm rather than a culture.
