Renting a place in a secured building will go a long way in making you feel safe in an area that is foreign to you. If you own a vehicle, you want to see about a parking place with the rental unit, or a parking facility within close proximity to where the rental unit is located.

Other things you need to remember to ask about are the cost of utilities and parking fees. Don\’t take it for granted that these items are included in the rent. Furnished or not, when you factor in these costs you may feel that the residence is more costly than what your budget will allow.

All in all, furnished apartments are an excellent solution for those who cannot commit to a long term stay in any area. It is easier to get settled into a new place when the only things you need to move are your personal belongings. Once you have a better idea of what direction your career will be taking you, you can decide if you want to stay in a furnished unit or begin purchasing your own furnishings.
