The Fresh Beat Band is a TV show on Nick Jr. for young children, and it’s been steadily growing in popularity since the show launched little under three years ago. It features four friends – Kiki, Marina, Twist and Shout, who attend music school together. Typically, each show will feature them encountering a problem that a pre-schooler would encounter and shows how they solve the problem together. As you would expect from a show for pre-schoolers, it features a lot of songs, and it’s certainly one of my kids’ favorite shows.

History Of The Fresh Beat Band

Initially, the Fresh Beat Band were known as the Jump Arounds, but they changed their name to avoid copyright issues before the show was officially launched. The show has had controversial casting decisions in the past, with a few key cast members being replaced without any explanation or send off on the show. Most recently, the actress playing Marina was replaced by a new one in season three, leading to some complaints from viewers of the show about why this was done suddenly and with no good explanation on the show.

Casting issues aside, the Fresh Beat Band has been growing in popularity from day one since it was launched on Nick Jr., and there have been widespread calls for a concert like the one they did prior to the launch of the show to stir up interest. Since then, they have announced their official tour, which will commence in February of 2012. In conjunction with the launch of their US wide tour, they have also announced the release of their first official album in January of 2012, featuring many of their popular songs from the show.

The Fresh Beat Band Show

Typically, every episode of the Fresh Beat Band follows a simple formula, starting off with a song about the “problem of the day”. As they go about solving the problem, they eventually come to a solution that involves them working together as a group, and of course they’ll perform another song about the resolution of the problem to wrap things up. Then they’ll end the show by singing “We Had A Great Day”, which is one of the most popular and catchy songs from the show.
