Bridal Lehenga-An Epitome of Elegance and Charm

Lehenga choli also known as ghagra choli and chaniya choli in some parts of India, is a traditional attire native to the northern and western parts of India. It is worn in traditional festivals, weddings and other special events, exuding elegance and charm.

The Lehenga choli is the most popular traditional dress amongst brides in India. This outfit consists of a short tight fitted blouse called a choli. When paired with a lehenga the choli usually bares a few inches of the midriff accentuating the Indian hour glass figure defining the waist by adding that perfect combination of style and femininity.

Women with conventional taste can always opt for longer cholis. The cholis can be sleeveless, half sleeves or even full sleeves. The lehenga on the other is somewhat the Indian version of the western skirt. The difference is that it is heavily embellished with distinctive patterns and embroidery. They are made from a variety of fabrics such as cotton, crepe, georgette, satin, chiffon, brocade and net but the most preferred fabric is silk and are beautified with exquisite embroidery such as colorful resham, shiny sequins, zardozi, jari, diamante work, beads work, kundan work and mirror work.

In Punjab a special kind of embroidery called bagh is worn during festivals and weddings. This special heavy kind of embroidery barely makes the fabric visible. Kashida is a special colorful Kashmiri embroidery representing the rich culture of Kashmir. The other famous Indian embroidery is Kantha and Kasuti which is predominantly the most popular form of embroidery in Bangalore. There are various lehenga designs available in the market
